The summer camp for 4 to 14-year-olds was beginning its second week with an average attendance of over 250 campers and staff. Camp and Fieldhouse staff followed lockdown procedures. Due to the clear-headed actions of staff and the quick response time of law enforcement, there were no additional injuries.

As is standard protocol with any officer-involved shooting, and in the interest of transparency, the Duncanville Police Department has asked that the Texas Department of Public Safety take over this investigation. The results of their findings will be released as soon as they have completed their work.

Duncanville Police officers followed their training, and the City commends them for their actions today.
