Tri-City Animal Shelter ‘St. Catrick’s Day Soiree’ – March 15, 2019

Over 7,000 homeless, abandoned, and lost animals come through the doors of Tri-City Animal Shelter each year. 74% of these animals are not sterilized and over 1,000 per year are in need of veterinary care during their time at the shelter. Friends of Tri-City Animal Shelter is raising money to help these dogs and cats by funding spay/neuter and veterinary care programs. You’re invited to join DeSoto Mayor, Curtistene McCowan, honorary event chair, for the first annual St. Catrick’s Day Soirée fundraiser, presented by Camp Bow Wow and VCA DeSoto Animal Hospital, and sponsored by many other generous local businesses and donors.

Friends of Tri-City Animal Shelter launched their Give with a PURRpose capital campaign last fall to raise $500,000 for a renovation of the old shelter facility, located next door to the current shelter and adoption center. The building will become a new Surgery Suite and Medical Center where all adopted animals will be spayed or neutered before they go home, and sick and injured shelter animals will receive the veterinary care they need.

“I am delighted to serve as Honorary Chair of this exciting event benefiting the Tri-City Animal Shelter that serves Cedar Hill, DeSoto and Duncanville,” said DeSoto Mayor, Curtistene McCowan. “We look forward to greeting you at the Grow DeSoto Market Place (DeSoto’s small business incubator) for a successful evening of fundraising supporting this very important cause.”

The St. Catrick’s Day Soirée will take place Friday, March 15, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Grow DeSoto Market Place, located at 324 E Belt Line Road in DeSoto. Tickets are $25 and include open bar with wine and beer, hors d’oeuvres and dessert from local restaurants, and live music. A silent auction and raffle will benefit life-saving programs for dogs and cats at the shelter. Tickets may be purchased online at www.tricityfriends.org and a limited number of tickets will be available at the door.
