With more than a dozen parks, miles of walking trails, easy access to plush golf courses and more ... outdoor enthusiasts always have plenty to do in Duncanville. Families can spend quality time together at Kidsville, the largest volunteer built playground in the world or visit The Dallas Nature Center where they can explore more than 600 acres of native trees, flowers and wildlife.

Golf enthusiasts will find leading private and public Championship Golf Courses nearby including Thorntree Country Club, Dallas National Golf Course, Tangle Ridge Golf Club, and Country View Golf Course. Water-dwellers can simply jump in their car for a five minute ride to Joe Pool Lake, where they will find 7,490 acres of boating and fishing paradise. Joe Pool Lake is surrounded by four parks that cover more than 3,400 acres of land and include nearly 8 miles of hiking trails as well as more than 10 miles of mountain bike trails. In addition to outdoor activities, Duncanville has several state of the art community and recreational facilities to choose from.

The city spends more than 6,490 hours a year maintaining landscaping throughout the city. With a full-time horticulturist responsible for designing and maintaining landscaping you will find gorgeous flower beds, water fountains, plush green fields, and walkways around every corner. The parks and recreation department also maintains 227 acres of park land and plants nearly 50,000 annual bulbs every year creating a warm and colorful environment winter, summer, spring and fall. People are taking notice.

Residents can spend hours at the Duncanville Community Library and Recreation Center, a new, integrated learning and athletics center located on Main Street. The Library provides families, students and business professionals with a wealth of research and educational resources, including a wide range of print and multi-media publications. The Recreation Center has a wide range of activities for people of all ages including a comprehensive workout facility, indoor walking trails, basketball courts, pool tables, ping pong tables and more.

The Dallas Stars Hockey Team has brought their winning tradition to the "City of Champions" by opening a world-class Dr Pepper StarCenter in Duncanville. This 95,000 square foot, double ice rink complex provides residents with access to skating lessons, hockey lessons and open ice skating year round.

In 2002, Duncanville was one of only 46 cities in the state of Texas to receive the Tree City USA designation by the National Arbor Day Foundation. Just drive down Main Street or by the Duncanville Community Library and Recreation Center and you will see how well kept, clean and beautiful the City of Duncanville really is.
