Seeking Public Input on Harrington Park Access

The Duncanville Parks and Recreation Advisory Board will be seeking public input regarding the idea of gating Harrington Park at its entrances on Cockrell Hill Road and Highgate Drive to limit access to the park during after-hours. The discussion will held at the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board regularly scheduled meeting on February 13, 2017 in the meeting rooms at the Duncanville Recreation Center, 201 James Collins Blvd., starting at 6:30 pm.

Persons interested in providing input but are unable to attend the meeting can email Bart Stevenson, Director of Parks and Recreation, at bstevenson@ ci.duncanville.tx.us, or call the Parks and Recreation Department at 972- 780-4972. Input obtained via email will be shared with the Board, and the Board will make a recommendation to the City Council on this matter following public input and discussion.

Police Civil Service Exam Apply by Nov 23rd

The Duncanville Police Department is giving a Police Civil Service exam on Saturday, December 3, 2016. Individuals interested in an amazing career in Law Enforcement are urged to go online to fill out an interest card to be eligible for the civil service exam.

Duncanville Police Department has great opportunities in a variety of aspects of police work. If you are interested in a law enforcement career, submit an interest card by November 23, 2016 at 3pm to be eligible for the exam on December 3, 2016.

Council Seeks Citizens to Serve on City Boards & Commissions

The Duncanville City Council is currently accepting applications from citizens interested in volunteering their service on one of the City’s boards or commissions. To be eligible to serve, one must be a resident of the City of Duncanville, and not be in arrears on City of Duncanville ad valorem taxes or fines or fees.

Applications are being accepted for the following Boards and Commissions:

  • City Planning & Zoning Commission
  • Zoning Board of Adjustment
  • Parks & Recreation Advisory Board
  • Library Advisory Board
  • Sign Control Board
  • Duncanville Community & Economic Development Corporation (DCEDC)
  • Keep Duncanville Beautiful Board
  • Duncanville Community Multicultural Commission
  • Duncanville Social Engagement Partnership
  • Tri-City Animal Shelter Advisory Board

Applications will be accepted thru July 15, 2016. Following the application deadline, each applicant will be contacted to schedule a brief interview with the City Council. Appointments to the Boards and Commissions are then made in August by the City Council.
