Local Education Duncanville has long been known for its quality education system which consists of seven elementary schools, three intermediate schools, two junior highs, a ninth grade campus and a high school. Duncanville Independent School District is led by a team of world-class educators that truly care about the success of each and every student. Preparing children to succeed in a global society is the number one goal of education professionals within the Duncanville ISDToday, Duncanville ISD is investing more than $166 million into its school system to ensure students have access to state of the art education and athletic programs. The dollars will also be used to construct two new elementary schools and upgrade classroom and athletic facilities throughout the school district. Duncanville has eight TEA "Recognized" and two "Exemplary" campuses and its extra-curricular programs are the envy of cities throughout Texas. The High School Marching Band, state champions in 2002, is one of the most honored in the state and Duncanville ISD Athletic Programs have a long-standing tradition of success. Duncanville High School athletic programs have won a total of 20 state championships since 1975. In addition to the Duncanville ISD schools, residents and businesses also have convenient access to a number of quality colleges and universities including The University of North Texas System Center at Dallas, Dallas Baptist University, Northwood University, Mountain View College, and Cedar Valley College.
