Water-dwellers can simply jump in their car for a five minute ride to Joe Pool Lake, where they will find 7, 490 acres of boating and fishing paradise. Joe Pool Lake is surrounded by four parks that cover more than 3,400 acres of land and include nearly 8 miles of hiking trails as well as more than 10 miles of mountain bike trails. In addition to outdoor activities, Duncanville has several state of the art community and recreational facilities to choose from. Residents can spend hours at the Duncanville Community Library and Recreation Center, a new, integrated learning and athletics center located on Main Street. The Library provides families, students and business professionals with a wealth of research and educational resources, including a wide range of print and multi-media publications. The Recreation Center has a wide range of activities for people of all ages including a comprehensive workout facility, indoor walking trails, basketball courts, pool tables, ping pong tables and more. In March 2010, Bob Knight’s Fieldhouse opened its doors providing basketball, volleyball and indoor soccer leagues and training camps. In addition, Bob Knight’s Fieldhouse offers after-school tutoring to athletes and high performance athletic training.
