Our Mission:
The mission of the Duncanville Fire Department is to protect the citizens and their property which is accomplished by professional, dedicated and caring response to, and mitigation of all man-made and natural emergencies.
Duncanville Fire Department Emergency Operations is a fully paid, career organization staffing one quint, one engine, two Mobile Intensive Care Units, and one Command vehicle from two fire stations. Additional apparatus include one reserve engine, two MICU capable ambulances, and one brush fire response vehicle. Emergency operations consist of 48 professionals split between three shifts. Each shift working a 24-hour on and 48-hour off rotation schedule. Each shift is commanded by a Battalion Chief and each of the two stations is lead by a Station Captain.
Emergency Operations personnel provide fire suppression, emergency medical response and transport, and other emergency services to a community of approximately 38,000 residents living with an 11.2 square mile area. The department responds to over 6,000 calls annually. The Emergency Operations personnel also provide comprehensive training to ensure compliance with all state and national requirements for fire suppression and EMS personnel.
The Duncanville Fire Department participates in a comprehensive regional response program with Cedar Hill, DeSoto, and Dallas. In fact, it is not uncommon for all four departments to respond on the same structure fire call.

A: Duncanville FD units are dispatched according to information provided by the 9-1-1 emergency dispatcher. We have developed response plans based upon the resources that could be necessary for each type of event. This response plan is established regionally with DeSoto and Cedar Hill Fire Departments.
