Duncanville and the Federal Emergency Management Agency
In a continuing effort to insure the citizens and businesses in the City of Duncanville are provided maximum protection in the event of a natural disaster, we would like you to know that the City of Duncanville is a participant in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), and has obtained a flood insurance premium rate credit for its residents through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
This credit though the FEMA community rating system classification, will reflect a ten percent premium reduction for citizens in the community who purchase flood insurance.
Since most properties require some type of mortgage loan, title policy, home improvement loan or insurance policy, we consider your business crucial in helping to identify those properties which are at risk of flooding and flood damaged and insure those residents receive the information necessart to make a decision on the purchase of flood insurance.
Additional information, including FEMA Flood Rate Insurance Maps, FEMA Floodway Maps, floodplain protection regulations, floodplain construction regulations, completed elevation certificates, and flyers may be obtained from the City of Duncanville Public Works Department by contacting Alan McCully at 972-780-5064. Staff Engineers are available to address comments concerning flood protection assistance at 972-780-5015. Information on floods and flood hazard areas is also available at the Duncanville Public Library and every first week of the month of INFO 1250, Duncanville Information Radio, originating at 1250 on the AM dial and simulcast on Duncanville's Charter Communications Cable TV Channel 26.
