A TexShare Card provides you with borrowing privileges from more than 500 participating libraries across the state.
If you’re a registered patron of a participating library, you may request a TexShare Card from your home library. They’ll have their own rules about TexShare, but generally, you have to have proved that you’ll bring items back on time.
TexShare Cards for Duncanville residents
If you live in Duncanville and wish to get a paper TexShare card to take to other libraries, please come to the check out desk with your library card and current photo ID.
You must have had your library card for three months, and have no outstanding fees.
TexShare borrowing for visitors
If you are an adult coming from another library and wish to get TexShare borrowing privileges with us, please bring the following items to our check out desk:
- Current photo ID
- Paper TexShare card issued by your home library
- Home library card
We will issue you a library card with us for free.
This will allow you to check out up to 5 books or audiobooks at a time. Books may be renewed once, unless another patron has requested the item. TexShare patrons cannot check out DVDs, videos, magazines, or new items. We encourage you to visit your home library for these items, or if you wish you may purchase a non-resident card.
