We have over 100,000 items in our collection, most of which are available for check-out.
These include DVDs, audiobooks, and books, for children and adults, in English and Spanish. In addition to this, we offer e-books for checkout through OverDrive, and books from other libraries may be acquired through ILL. TexShare cardholders have limited borrowing privileges; click here for more info.
Cardholders may check out any circulating material by bringing it to the Circulation Desk and presenting their library card. Most circulating items check out for a period of 3 weeks, but DVDs and videos, magazines, and 7 day books check out for 1 week.
Most cards have a very high limit on how many items you may have on your account. However, all patrons are subject to the following limits:
- Ten DVDs/videos for adult cards; none for juvenile cards
- One study guide per test, and up to three study guides on one card
- Two résumé-related books
- Three books on a given subject from the same section; for example, 3 books on dinosaurs from junior non-fiction and three from adult non-fiction, but not six from junior non-fiction
Most circulating materials may be renewed twice, unless the item has been requested by another patron. Renewals can be made in person, over the phone, or through your account in our online catalog. Items may be renewed at any time during the checkout period; however, items renew from the day of renewal, not from the due date, so renewing items early will shorten the total amount of time one may have the item checked out.
Library items may be returned inside during library hours, in the drop at our Check Out Desk. Items may also be returned in our 24-hour book drop, which is located on the north side of the building (off of Nance St).
Patrons may place requests on any circulating materials (except downloadable OverDrive materials) in person, over the phone, or through our online catalog. There is a limit of 5 pending requests for all patrons.
