Located within the Duncanville Fire Department, Fire Administration Building, the Office of Emergency Management coordinates the activities of various agencies and city departments who are ultimately responsible for operations during disaster situations. Emergency Management executes preparations for and carrying out of all emergency functions through the four phase delivery of mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery. Our primary goal is to increase the city’s capabilities to respond to hazards that threaten our city while implementing necessary steps to prevent or reduce the impact of a disaster upon our community.
Through a Regional Interlocal Cooperation Agreement, the Office of Emergency Management is staffed by our Emergency Management Operations Coordinator. Through this co-op agreement, the Emergency Management Operations Coordinator coordinates and manages an emergency preparedness program and regional disaster resource assistance plan for the cities of Cedar Hill, DeSoto, and Duncanville. The Mayor of Duncanville is the Director of Emergency Management for the City of Duncanville, while the Fire Chief serves as the Emergency Management Coordinator.
