Council Seeks Citizens to Serve on City Boards & Commissions

The Duncanville City Council is currently accepting applications from citizens interested in volunteering their service on one of the City’s boards or commissions. To be eligible to serve, one must be a resident of the City of Duncanville, and not be in arrears on City of Duncanville ad valorem taxes or fines or fees.

Applications are being accepted for the following Boards and Commissions:

  • City Planning & Zoning Commission
  • Zoning Board of Adjustment
  • Parks & Recreation Advisory Board
  • Library Advisory Board
  • Sign Control Board
  • Duncanville Community & Economic Development Corporation (DCEDC)
  • Keep Duncanville Beautiful Board
  • Duncanville Community Multicultural Commission
  • Duncanville Social Engagement Partnership
  • Tri-City Animal Shelter Advisory Board
  • Civil Service Commission

Applications will be accepted thru July 15, 2016. Following the application deadline, each applicant will be contacted to schedule a brief interview with the City Council. Appointments to the Boards and Commissions are then made in August by the City Council.

Duncanville Social Engagement Partnership Seeks Members

The Duncanville Social Engagement Partnership is now taking applications for individuals interested in serving as a member. Created on February 3, 2015, the Partnership was formed to engage and develop a family-oriented community, with a brand focusing on the goal of “Duncanville as the Basketball and Sports Tourism Capital of Texas,” and create ways to engage citizens between 18-30 years of age to become involved in Duncanville. PREPARATIONS CONTINUE FOR 2016 CITY OFFICERS ELECTION

ELECTION DAY IS MAY 7, 2016

Preparations continue for the City election to be held Saturday, May 7th according to City Secretary Mary Jones. This year’s slate of offices includes the Mayor and Councilmembers to represent Districts 2 and 4.

All registered voters in the City of Duncanville will have the opportunity to vote for the Mayor position. Registered voters residing in Districts 2 and 4 will also have an opportunity to vote for their respective candidates.

Anyone not currently registered to vote has until April 7th to register in order to cast a ballot in the May election. Voter registration cards may be obtained at City Hall or the Duncanville Public Library. For more information regarding voter registration, residents may contact the Dallas County Elections Department at (214) 637-7937.
