The City of Duncanville is holding a temporary dog park at Armstrong Park from July 8-17th from 9:00 a.m. – noon and 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. daily. This will serve as an opportunity for the City to collect feedback from the public on a possible permanent dog park in the future. Additional opportunities for public feedback will continue as the Parks Master Plan process begins in a couple of months. The idea of a temporary dog park was realized by Girl Scout Natalie Ortiz, with the support of the City Parks and Recreation Board and Staff. As a result, Natalie received the Girl Scout’s Silver Award, the highest award a Girl Scout can earn.

Bring your 4-legged friend to the park! Be sure to follow these temporary dog park rules and regulations:

1. Owners/handlers are legally responsible for their dog(s) and any injury or damage to facilities caused by them.
2. Dog owners/handlers must keep their dog(s) in view at all times.
3. All dogs must be under the owner’s/handler’s control.
4. Dog owners/handlers must immediately pick up and dispose of, in trash receptacles, all dog feces.
5. Dogs off their leash are limited to two dogs per owner/handler inside the park.
6. Dogs must be leashed before entering and leaving the park.
7. Dogs must be current on vaccinations, including rabies.
