Keep Duncanville Beautiful Board Meeting Agenda

MEETS: 1st Friday of each month
TIME: 8:30 a.m.
PLACE: City Hall
203 E. Wheatland Road
STAFF MEMBER: Angie Henley, Special Events Coordinator

PURPOSE:
Collectively, the Keep Duncanville Beautiful Board members are charged with the responsibility of creating and implementing programs that will encourage beautification within Duncanville.

REQUIREMENTS:

Each KDB Board member should have or be able to provide:

  1. A genuine interest in the mission of the organization and its stated focus of litter prevention, beautification and community improvement,

  2. Experience in, and/or knowledge of business operations, media, public relations, special events, economic development, education, gardening or other similar areas,

  3. Four (4) hours per month to work on the Board's purpose and attend monthly board meetings.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend Monthly Board Meeting
  • Work on a sub-committee
  • Participate in the annual KDB Cleanup Day held in conjunction with the Texas Trash Off event
  • Attend an orientation for KDB
  • Attend annual Board retreat/workshop
  • Review the Keep Texas Beautiful Manual
  • Attend a Keep Texas Beautiful Basic Training Workshop
  • Represent KDB at other organization meetings and events

BOARD MEMBER SELECTION AND TERM LENGTH:

Keep Duncanville Beautiful Board members are appointed by the City Council and serve staggered terms of two (2) years with eligibility for reappointment for three consecutive terms. The City Council may elect to appoint a person to the Board to fulfill a vacant position. In such case, the new Board member will serve the remainder of the term with eligibility for reappointment.

  8. Volunteer to assist with the maintenance of the City of Duncanville's rose or perennial gardens.
  9. Conduct a litter free event.
  10. Improve and maintain the landscaping at your residence or business.
