BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS

MEETS: 2nd and 4th Tuesdays, if needed
TIME: 7:00 p.m.
PLACE: City Hall, Council Chambers
STAFF MEMBER: Greg Contreras, Building Official

DUTIES:

1. Conducts public hearings regarding deviation from Zoning Ordinances.
   
   
2. Makes decisions in the zoning deviation for or against the change. The decision can only be overruled by the District Court. (For more details, see copy of that portion of the Zoning Ordinance which provides for this Board.)
   
   
3. Rules on the correctness of the Building Official's interpretation of the Zoning Ordinance (when questioned by the Council or citizens).
   
   
4. The Code Enforcement Manager will be an ex-officio member of the Board of Adjustment and will be responsible for preparation of the minutes which are to be approved by the Board at the next meeting.
   
   
5. The Board of Adjustment elects a Chairman and Vice-Chairman.
   
   
6. Prompt attendance at all meetings is urged. If three (3) meetings are missed without a valid excuse, the member may be replaced.
